I challenge you!

The next time the Bachelor is on… get on your trainer and start lightly spinning… prepare for one of the most intense workouts of the week!

Every time a teardrop falls - Increase cadence by 10
Every shouting match, name call, or backstab - Increase cadence by 5

Hear that spanish guitar? That begins the "SPANISH GUITAR SUFFERFEST" - Drop a gear and let'er rip until the music stops!

The rose ceremony is right around the corner! Think we're letting up? HECK NO!!

Max wattage for the awkward 90 seconds of waiting on the final rose

---- Cool down while those let go are saying their goodbyes!!

Just got off the bike! Another successful trash tv season premier!

LOL! Nice! I watch River Monster and speed up every time he yanks at his fishing pole and the music goes "dun dun dun". I don't watch TV otherwise, so that's all I've got.

I have a few guilty pleasures (cough Sister Wives cough) that I don't allow myself to watch unless I am on the trainer or treadmill. =) As if that makes it any better...

Downton Abbey and the Spinner:

The dowager rolls her eyes = 1minute max cadence
You see the dog = ++ tension for a hill climb
As servant helps someone get dressed = get HR over 150

Walking Dead- everytime a zombie gets killed, increase cadence until next zombie is killed etc.
Every time a human gets bitten, speed up for 5 mins.
Every time you think, wow these people all need baths, do 2 min interval high spin.
Every time you hear a horrible fake southern accent, go 90% of FTP.

I tried watching Walking Dead on the trainer a couple of years ago - but found that every time there was a surprise scare, I would jump and almost fall off the bike (I know, I'm safely in the basement...). Had to stop. Now I'm regulated to trashy procedurals like "The Good Wife"...although, I could do sprints between objections...

I'm halfway through with Season Three of "White Collar" on Netflix, I will be done with the series in a couple of weeks. I need to figure out what series to start next.

My not-so-guilty-pleasure-because-I'm-riding-a-bike-while-I-watch is Biggest Loser! You can do mostly the same types of intervals as you would with the Bachelor, PLUS you can pretend Jillian Michaels is screaming at YOU to suck it up and go harder.

I had to do a session while my husband watched football.  I THOUGHT I would play a game of going up a gear/higher cadence when the ball was in play.  But, the time this was true was so short it wasn't much of a workout!  What a boring sport.

I could not stand watching the Bachelor or any other reality TV other than the Amazing Race.  Even with that I'm more interested in seeing the places they go to than the actual "race".

I'm a little more old school.  Last winter I went through all the original Star Trek episodes and this year I am working through the Next Generation.  I tried a few other series but need a certain mix of story line, suspense, and action to hold my interest.

Never thought about altering my routine to what was on the screen.  I'm usually doing a 3 x 15' sesson so it's all pretty high intensity.

It's probably just me, but if i'm watching TV while riding, I sort of zone out too much. I usually read the newspaper and find that helps keep me in aero and focused. Weird, eh? And as a side benefit, the newspaper is good for catching sweat and keeping my bike and mat that much cleaner...

But to the OP, I guess any good TV drinking game could be adapted to the trainer too....

My favorite is from the Bob Newhart Show - any time someone said "Hi Bob!", you had to drink. Now to find a good source for streaming vid!

Great taste! I'm on the same exact rotation -- I'm currently on season 4 of Sons. I tried House of Cards but I couldn't get into it.

Awesome! I thought bumping up a gear and pushing through the commercials watching football was tough!

Known for its brutal cadences, nasty sprints and 12-minute hills, the spin class seems to be the perfect substitute for a raunchy ride outside. But is it?
