Aloha:

My name is Robert and I’m registered for the Boise 70.3 in June. I’m 40 years old and live in Hawaii. This will be my first half Ironman and I’m super excited. I’ve done a few marathons, tons of half marathons and a couple of sprint triathlons. I typically run about 1000 miles a year and swim with my kids at the Y all the time (they’re on the swim team). I heard the Boise 70.3 is a great race for your first HIM, so here I am. I look forward to meeting you guys…

Good luck and hope for decent weather. The great thing about Boise is the late start which should give it enough time to warm up.

Hey Robert,
I've been doing triathlons for over seven years now, mostly to stay in shape. My only advice is not to neglect your bricks. Running right after a long ride will really make a difference. I have Orlando, FL 70.3 this April and with not living in Hawaii I hit the treadmill right after my spin class. Let me know if I can be of any help.

I've been using BT since I started and keeping track of your workouts and the "inspires" go a long way in staying with your plan.

Welcome aboard!

Does it matter how fast you go? Does it matter if you win? No. It only matters that you tri your best and smile when you cross the finish line.

I can't say it enough, the feeling of treading water for that final minute, helicopters over head, Mike Riley's Iron-voice over the P.A. - just awesome. I cannot believe I'm here!

Well the day is finally here. I don't believe a single workout has gone by in these past 9 years where the idea of being at the start line of the Ironman Hawaii didn't creep into my head.

So far the taper is feeling good and I'm getting that itchy feeling to race. I know this will grow even stronger when I get to the island and see my friends and PBN Team members.

Definitely glad this weekend is out of the way as 145 miles of cycling and 27 miles of running in two days is a fair amount.
