Let's leave it at: There are certain "academic leeway" grants to athletes, shall we?

Here's what you need to know.  The ACC is always down played as an inferior conference.  But is it true?  During the BCS era the ACC's bowl win percentage is 47%, for comparison the Pac10/12 is  50%, the high and mighty and all powerful Big 10 is 39%.

The vaunted Buckeyes got beat by Clemson, a team that FSU beat by 40 at Clemson....

And just for the record FSU's non-conference games are Ok. State, Notre Dame (kinda a conference game), and Florida.  Their conference games will probably include Miami, and Clemson.

But really here's all you need to know....

FSU Seminoles 14-0, National Champions.

If you want to say anything, all your team has to do is win the games that are scheduled and then win their bowl game.  If they didn't...shut up until next year.

-eh- whatever.

I just found it amusing.

I guess I'll have to settle for three national championships in four years. It's difficult but I'll make do knowing they've at least done that much, as little as it is.

(edit) Oh, and keep rooting for my conference, as shamed as it is

SEC still the best in college football
http://espn.go.com/blog/statsinfo/post/_/id/82730/sec-still-the-bes...

The horror. The horror.

Well, as long as (SEC)SPN says so.

True about the SEC, but of course FSU was 2-0 against the SEC this year.

Still doesn't change the fact that FSU IS 14-0 AND the CURRENT NATIONAL CHAMPIONS.

So THIS YEAR you have the joy of saying "Look how good we WERE and WAIT TILL NEXT YEAR."

Yup. I also find it funny as hell how everyone's giving AL garbage for having a losing year when there are many programs that would (perhaps even literally) kill to have an 11-2 season.

We'll see what next year brings.

I just thought the pic in the OP was funny.

Or you might want to know that in the BCS era, this is how the major conferences rank as far as performances in BCS games.

ACC is 5-12 (29.5%)
Big East/AAC is 9-7 (56%)
Big 10 is 13-17 (43%)
Pac 12 is  13-8 (62%)
Big 12 is 11-12 (48%)
SEC is 17-9 (65%)

ACC only has more BCS appearances than the Big East/AAC (by one) and has the fewest wins and lowest winning percentage by far.

It's not to take away from the FSU season they just had.  Just that I find it funny when you start off a post with "Here's what you need to know..." when you can show a similar statistic that paints a very different picture.

They should make it to a BCS game with that schedule if they can win out.

The best conference in college football is the SEC....any argument to the contrary is silly.
