Subject: wet suit for clydes?
I've got a big gut. I purchased a xterra wetsuit but I'm wondering if I should return it. Its the biggest they have at 2xl. Are there any other wetsuits that are a better fit for me. The exterra fits but my range of motion is restricted in the shoulders and arms.
Thanks!

I don't have answer to your question, but I suggest going to a shop and get fitted for your first one. I'm 6'4" and 250 and was worried about fit. I ended up at a tri store and they pulled out three auits that fit my body shape. I tried them on and picked the best one for me. It may cost more, or not. I paid $300 for a zoot force 4.

I swear by local shops. Good luck.

Not sure if rental is an option but this place carries suits for larger people. I weight 338 lbs and they said they could fit me.

The first time I put my wetsuit on I was convinced I needed a larger size. Felt like a sad duck flapping at the water. I found this youtube video on getting into the wetsuit, haven't had an issue since. Not to say the suit is the right one for you but this helped me.

I'm a newbie, but I needed a wetsuit for an upcoming triathlon in Aurora, so I bought a wetsuit from the wetsuit outlet. I ordered the L2 Synergy Adrenaline and the company upgraded my suit and sent me the Synergy Hybrid. I tried it on and it fits pretty good. Next weekend, I'm heading to Colorado to try it out. By the way, I'm 5'11 227 lbs. The shoulders and arms felt great and the suit felt buoyant and heck I'm not even in the water...go figure.

This is a 'first impressions' review of the Fit2Race Sockeye Fullsuit. From a first wetsuit point-of-view, I was able to dramatically improve my pace over non-wetsuit swims.

I step gingerly into the pond. I did not know water could be that cold and not be ice. Briefly I can see the bottom and then everything is black except for my pale hands extending from my black suit.

I am not going to buy a tri-suit before my first tri - I want to make sure I am going to stick with this before I spend a lot of money on it so I want to figure out what will work best.
