Nothing more than a self aggrandizing  victory post here. Anyway, grabbed my (surprisingly) first OA win today in the Xterra Trail Race 15 mile McDowell Mountain race today. Had some super stiff competition out there (BryanCD) but managed to rope in the top two with a mile to go and actually win. I can see how this could be addictive. Race report soon.

Good job.  That first win is always special.  I've only been doing "this" for two years now, going into three.  Won my first 5k in my first year.  Last year I won my first tri, took 2nd in another, and quite a few top 10's in other races.  Keep at it!

Wow - that's fantastic. Beating Bryan is almost more impressive than the win. You are officially a badass.

(I was tempted to post a thread about my race this weekend, as I was so stoked, but your win easily beats what I had to offer.)

Looking forward to the blow-by-blow RR.

Ha! Well to be fair to Bryan I believe he's a bit more focused on his new son and all that crossfit junk If this race involved a bike and/or swimming he definitely would have smashed me easily. But it didn't

Bucket list stuff but not for a couple years. See how this year goes in triathlon then I'll decide when I want to fully dive into the ultra scene.

I did happen to agree to a 24 hour treadmill run this year though. Oops!

Elaine, c'mon, maybe $12?

First win is always an incredible experience. Especially if you know you are in the lead and you have enough of a cushion to really enjoy and experience that last stretch. I've won races in a few states so far (Oklahoma, Washington, Florida) but really hoping to get one against the stiff competition here in Colorado someday.
