Comments: Race went well. Had very little expectation. It wasn't much of a trail, more of a mown area around large pastures. It was pretty wet in the low spots, lots of standing water, and puddles that couldn't be avoided. Thought I would try and race it and see what happened, but would have been happy with averaging 7:20 or so. Hit hte first mile mark with the leaders ~15 sec ahead of me at 6:20 oace, and knew I needed to back off. Held steady for pretty much the entire race. I had one guy with me that we went back and forth til the last mile when he fell off a bit. I was thrilled with my time. It wasn't a difficult trail though, just running through pastures. Lots of fun to race and go fast, though. What would you do differently?: nothing Post race
Warm down: none. Waited for ALlen to finish about 5 min later, then went inside to get warm. Event comments: Low key race in State Park. Not very scenic, and a very dull trail. They did have 2 water stops I think. Post race smores were nice touch. Got 2 nice pairs of Swiftwick socks for the effort. I would do it again. Close to home, didn't start at the very crack of dawn.
