For some reason, I didn't see any race reports for 2013, any one do the Oly distance at Big Bear last year? What did you think of the course and overall race organization?

I'm new to the L.A. area and trying to set up my race calendar. I'm in for Wildflower Oly. . . although I hear the lake is very low. I may race in June, keep it low key in July and then mid August start up again for the fall season.

I found a couple reviews of the sprint course which you may have discovered already.  Sounds like a lovely swim through weeds.

Have a look at the OC International in Mission Viejo. It's June 1 this year. This will be my 4th consecutive OC. It is a very well run race on a challenging course. A warm water lake swim, canyon bike and a bit of a hilly run. A little pricey but very enjoyable. Bill and Bob do a good job managing this race and it usually gets a very solid turnout with lots of competition!

I would like to do the oc tri as well, but money is a factor for me and the big bear tri costs less than half as much.

Many people have been asking my opinion of this popular show, so I feel obliged to scream out: It's terrible! It’s horrible! It's abusive! I also feel like throwing my shoe at the TV.

I’m a 240lb man, and I run relatively long distances. How would you recommend training for marathon and IM distances as heavy as I am?
