I am thinking about attempting this race as my first ulra. I have completed 3 ironman races and a 24 hour adventure race, but never run over a marathon. This race looks like fun terrain. Anyone have any reviews or experience with this race.

Thanks

Oh, good choice! It's a tough one though.
Have you been to this site?
http://www.everytrail.com/guide/the-georgia-jewel-35-miler

I was registered for it this past year. They were getting some CRAZY storms that weekend and the forecast was 9hours of solid rain. I DNS'd it, I wasn't feeling good and running on a flooded course wasn't going to be a good idea. (no regrets with that decision as the course had MAJOR water crossings -ropes, detours and the course ended up being longer)

You seem to have a great base. What is your fitness level now, your running mileage? (your logs aren't updated) Do you run with the Forge group?
I ask because there is a great 50k at the end of April, and if you have at least a half marathon-marathon base, you can finish that. Enough weeks out, not far and it's CHEAP.

I think it is worth considering to get some experience before the Jewel.

Triathletes are not invincible. Some of us like to think we are, but that is just not true. Anything can happen to us in open water. So why not make sure you are prepared for an emergency?
