Subject: Ultra books
Well I decided to bite the bullet and register for my first ultra.

I am going to go with The North Face Gore-Tex 50 mile in Wisconsin

I really benefited from having a book when I started Triathlons, does anyone have a good book that they liked for ultras?
I'm sorry if this has been posted (I'm sure it has) but my search came up empty.

It looks like there are a few books out there just by a Google search, but I would have to order it online since I doubt my local bookstore would have them.

I picked up "relentless forward progress" by Byron Powell.  A good overview of the whole Ultra thing.

Haven't read any others tho'.

Of course, Born to Run (for motivation). Also any book by Dean Karnazes, but 50/50 was not as instructional as Ultramarathon Man (his first) or RUN! Also, there are a lot of good Youtube video's with folks like Scott Jurek. Very motivational.

You're welcome.

I step gingerly into the pond. I did not know water could be that cold and not be ice. Briefly I can see the bottom and then everything is black except for my pale hands extending from my black suit.

“Too bad there’s not anything like this for triathletes.” There are a million books and articles on how to train. One of the toughest parts of triathlon training is how to fit them into everyday life.

Without a doubt, we begin to notice patterns in our training performances. We notice when our good and bad days repeat themselves in our logbook.
