Not going to worry about that small increase.  I had my longest run over the weekend ever 21.61 miles.  It effected me more then I'd care to admit and have not been working out as hard this week.  I'm feeling so much better today, have to decide if I want to run today or take another easy day of some light cross training.  I also ate a bit more then I should have.  Made some awesome corned beef and ate a bit more of it then I should have.

What I am worried about is next week.  I'm leaving for Florida on Sunday for eight days.  I have a conference for the first few days then taking a few days off to visit a friend in Miami.  I have not been good with eating well when at these events, much less topping it off with a vacation.  It will be a real struggle to eat clean and keep up with the exercise while I'm down there.  I have no excuses, except lame ones.  The weather, unless some random freak of nature will be better then what I've been in for the past 5 months, so I want to take every opportunity to get outside!

3/5/2014: 217
3/12/14 - 225
3/19/14 - 221

Not as unhappy as I was this morning, but I posted lower numbers over the weekend. Then had a banquet buffet on Sunday night and a Pot Luck last night with the best BBQ pork I have had in many moons.

I will get below 220 again next week and then finish March strong.

March 1: 148.0
March 7: 147.4
March 12: 146.7
March 19: 147.4

A little up but such a minor bump I'm not worried. I'm getting my workouts in, tracking my eating, restricting the number of "treats" I let myself have, but eating more (healthy) stuff if I legitimately feel hungry. And it's paying off - I have the energy I need for training.

Now if only the snow would melt....

Solid month in my opinion and I have hardly worked out. I am glad to say my surgery recovery is mostly done and I put in a run and a bike this week. only 30 mins each was the most I could handle.

But I have really controlled my food this month.

It is easier to control food then it is to try and out run the fork.

I don't have a set time to reach my goal. I just want to get there. Training for a Sprint Tri and possibly a Olympic Tri by the end of this year. My weight loss has been very inconsistent and very frustrating. So tired of carry around this extra, unwanted baggage.

Welcome to the group, you'll find a lot of us that are in or were in the same boat!  If you use myfitnesspal feel free to join us!  My name is Justin86

Welcome!! And best of luck to you. Feel free to add me on My Fitness Pal as well if you use that. Crismcc7

I haven't been home since Tuesday morning so I haven't posted a weigh-in yet. I'll post tomorrow. Being away from home means my food hasn't been the best, but hopefully it won't be too much of a gain!

Thanks.  Not to excited about the forecast.  looks like its suppose to be cooler and rainy (cooler by FL standards).  I guess I'm dragging winter down there with me!

The run was intense.  It effected me more then I'd care to admit I was just today able to get in a solid 6.5 miles.  I had to take several days off of running this week.  Even then my pace was a bit slower.  I'm blaming my PT for that though.  I went in to my session Tuesday and first thing he said was "Big leg day today!! Ready!!??"  I was not to excited lol still a bit sore from that.  I have a great PT though he is working on me with my goals of a ultra this year and focusing on muscle endurance, more so than bulking up.

No weigh in yesterday, but got on the scale this morning:

03/06 - 136
03/12 - 135.5
03/20 - 133.5

Seems to be trending down! I've been using an app called Happy Scale to track my weight since mid February. It uses a calculation based on your weight fluctuations to give you an idea of what your predicted actual weight is. I like it since it will show your actual weigh ins, but also follows the predicted weight trend so I can see that it's been going down since early March. Not sure how accurate it is, but it's been motivating me.

3/12 - 192.6.

3/19- 189.2

finally some traction. But a little late posting as wedensday nite was admitted to the ER with severe abdominal pains while traveling for business about 4 hours from home. 48 hours and saline drip /clear liquid diet I am on my home. Too bad weigh in day wasn't today. I'd rock it. All is well, just need to recover a bit

Ouch!  Hope everything is alright!

Good work on going south of 190 again though.

THanks, introducing some solid food back in the diet.   Amazing though, almost 24 hours of an IV drip nutrition, 12 hours of clear liquids after that (and I had NOTHING left in my stomach), and I come back weighing more!   So, anyone considering this approach to get to race weight quickly, it doesn't work!  LOL

I saw it!  Weighed in at 179.7 at the gym this morning after my workout.  I know its after, but came in at 180.8 before.  I am really going to have a tough week ahead of me.  I am going to a conference in Orlando then vacation in Miami.  I really need to toughen up at eat well, when I'm down there.  I know I will have time to get in solid runs, so no excuses there.  I have no excuse about nutrition.  I have to decide what is more important to me.  Coming home weighing less then 180 or a few indulgences.

So you all need to hold me accountable =).  If I come in weighing heavier next week or the week after that someone needs to slap me

March 3- 108 lbs
March 10- 106.7 lbs
March 17- 108 lbs
March 24- 106.8 lbs

It's really odd how my weight is going up and down even though I weigh at the same time on the same day. I highly doubt I've actually been gaining and then losing two pounds a week. I met with a personal trainer at the gym last week and he determined (according to the gym scale) that I'm actually 105.5 lbs and I have 16.7% body fat (not ~19% like I thought before). But, maybe it's a personal psychological thing, I feel like I just need to see 105 on the scale at home to feel satisfied. :P It's entirely possible the gym scale is wrong, after all.

Increasing strength continues to be my primary goal, however, so I'm fine if it takes a long time for the scale to reflect what I want it to.

Side note: the personal trainer said that 112 pounds is my ideal weight with the same body fat and more muscle. Hmmm.

So I've discovered that when I'm closely tracking what I'm eating, I freak out as soon as I have one perceived "bad" thing and let it derail my whole day. Or if my weight is "bad" one morning, I let myself get in this negative mindset. On Sunday I decided to lighten up a bit, not use MFP, focus on making good food decisions rather than exact calorie goals, refocus on training quality, and only weigh myself once a week. I'm going to try this through mid-April and see if it's less stressful/makes better progress.

Happy Tuesday everybody!

March 1: 148.0
March 7: 147.4
March 12: 146.7
March 19: 147.4
March 26: 145.8

I saw 145.5, 145.4, and 145.3 on the scale on Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday... of course on official weigh in day I'm a little higher than that!

However, the main thing is the scale is going in the right direction, I'm not feeling hungry most of the time, and I'm getting my workouts done with decent energy.
