There goes most of the rest with the 12 seed Harvard over 5 Cincy.

Yup Harvard really messed up that part of the bracket for me. I had Cincy in the elite 8.

Wow, Albany has some of the most distracting shorts I've ever seen - blue on the front to match the jersey and yellow on the back.  It looks like there are three teams on the court.  I hope Florida wins just to get those shorts out of the tourney.

Harvard is in my bracket, but not for much longer. I have 3 out of 4 of the games so far. I hope I can keep that pace up.

I'm not much for college basketball and never follow the tournament, however this year my alma mater made it in for the first time! Go Mustangs! (Cal Poly). Granted I don't expect them to go much further, especially since they are facing Wichita in the first round.

Officiating in this Florida game has been terrible.

A 16 seed will need to destroy a 1 to win with the way these games are typically officiated.

OU blew it on free throws.  They were tight over all.  NDSU deserved to win.  But that officiating was INCREDIBLY inconsistent last night.  On both sides.  NDSU's Braun did NOT foul on his 4th foul.  Horrible call.  And equally horrible was the foul that sent the 58% free throw shooting freshman that hadn't played a minute all night to the line to put them ahead.  WTF?

And even though I've been watching all season, I still don't understand the new hand checking foul calls.  Just don't.  I have not seen a sufficient explanation and then application on the court.

UGH!  While I didn't have my Sooners going much farther, I DID NOT expect them to bounce out in the first game.  Only good thing is they are a very young team so hopefully they will be even better next year.

Rant over.  On with the rest of the tournament.

Other than missing the Dayton win, I'm perfect for day one.  Even got BOTH 12 over 5 games right.

BUT, story of my life.  I'm almost flawless in rounds 1 -3 (assuming things will be the same this year), but someone who asleep at the wheel will only get 4 games right in the first round but they happen to be the final four teams and edge me out with picking the final two teams and championship.  A bit of an exaggeration, but making the point.

Almost invariably, I'm leading the pools (or close 2nd or third) for then entire tournament until the final four play then, then someone who likes the color of the uniforms that was at the bottom skyrocket to the top with picking the championship matchup.  In my simple pool scoring, picking the team going into the final game is worth the same as getting 16 first round games right.

Officiating has been the lone blemish on an otherwise great tournament so far. It has just been incredibly inconsistent. The games have been tight all game and then they will swallow their whistles at the end. I hate that. Call it it tight or call it loose, but just call it consistent.

-In the OSU game, Dayton got 3 free throws and that corner three pointer when the only contact was the shooter bringing his arms down on top of the defender. There was more contact with Craft going the other way but no call.

-New Mexico St's 3 point shooter was fouled on 2 seperate 3 pointers in OT and neither was call. An equally terrible out of bounds call somewhat made up for the 2nd.

-Across the board, you can pummel someone in the paint but if you touch them on the perimeter, it's a foul. I consider this much worse basketball than what we were seeing at the end of last season.
