Thanks for the thoughts guys. I am just going to stick with my original plan and ride it Saturday.

I went and rode the entire course on Saturday afternoon. It has a few hills that are definitely not a walk in the park! I especially loved the turn off of N. 750 and on to N. 661 D with the pretty severe downhill and having to make that left hand turn. It was a pretty fun ride, though stressful as I had not ever driven or road the course, and had only looked at it on Google Earth. I feel like I am in a lot better shape now. I will have to say that the South wind didn't affect it as much as I had anticipated, but with that being said, I hope its calm on race day!

I have about 9k miles on my bike, what needs to be done, checked or replaced to be sure it is in tip-top shape? I'm racing IM Canada this summer.

I struggled on the bike while climbing the hill portions of the course. I do fine on long straight rides but really have a tough time while hill climbing. Any advice or training tips?

It’s a challenge to push yourself a little harder and a little further. Be proud of every workout that is accomplished and every step-even the baby ones-that you take on this course to the finishline.

After you have established the Ironman goal, the most important factor outside of the training is which race to choose? What is your best sort of course, hilly, rolling, flat?

Byrn won’t hold your hand through the long hours and miles required finishing or for success in an IM, he can only show you how to get there. The work is up to you.

Experts agree, doing a “mock,” triathlon on the course you’re racing can aid you in your training; performance and most of all quell some nervous energy.
