Subject: RE: Felt B16 owners No purchases yet. But I've been looking into it myself and I'm leaning towards Power2Max. You can get them for about $1000, and it'll be a little upgrade to your chain ring as well. I think it's one of the cheapest options around and has some benefits by being crank-based on the spider (includes power from both legs and let's you swap out wheels). Stages is technically cheaper for a single crank alone. But you'll need to buy a pair and swap out your rear brake caliper, which bumps it up above the $1000 mark. Powertap would be slightly less assuming standard install charges. But then your power is locked into your rear wheel (may or may not be an issue). Here is a reply I got from Power2Max about what I would need to work with my 2012 B16 (should be the same as your 2013). Hope this is useful. Thank you very much for your message and for your interest in power2max. I checked online and if I see right your FSA Omega Megaexo has a pretty rare 19mm spindle. Usually Megaexo cranks have a 24mm spindle, so unfortunately you will need to change your bottom bracket. But that's not a big investment - a FSA Megaexo bottom bracket for your frame (it's a threaded frame in the BSA format) is $36. |
