Subject: XTERRA Hickory Knob

Who all has joined the dark side and is planning on doing XTERRA Hickory Knob?  I'm excited to kick off the season with an XTERRA as my first race.

You mean - saw the light???

Count me in and I'm hoping to see some new faces as well as DawgChase - he's a young gun that's got some serious power.

This is a great first Xterra race as long as the weather cooperates, it was mine 2 yrs ago and I was immediately hooked. The bike course is fairly straight-forward, fast, flows with no real serious technical sections and decent passing sections.

Let's hope the rain holds off until after the race. They are being a bit over jealous after last year's race. The swim is going to be a bit chilly.

First XTERRA of the year is in the books. All in all it was a good day since I didn't crash or trip on anything. The swim was WAY long. It almost seemed twice as long as 800 meters.

I missed you out there, there was a good sized Tri-Augusta team, were you with that group?

Conditions were fantastic today. You are right, the swim was long and I enjoyed every minute of it !!! I'd guess around 1300-1400 based on my normal wetsuit swims. The good news is that gave me a fighting chance against the mtn bikers.
