Hi everyone!

Finally decided to stop lurking and start posting!
Anyone in the NYC area doing to Quassy Rev3? I'm looking for potential people to travel/room with...thinking about renting a car or possibly taking metro north to get there.

Hi. I'm signed up for the HIM. Are you doing the Olympic or Half? I'm going up with family so couldn't help you out in the travel or rooming department but am happy to have some chatter about the race and the course.

Thanks! I'm doing the Olympic. I've done several running events of varying distances and one duathlon, but this is my first tri, very excited! Have you done Quassy before? I heard the course is a bit challenging, lots of hills...

Good to know, thanks! Perhaps we can be in touch closer to the race?
Do you train in NYC? If the weekend weather would ever cooperate, I'd love to finally get on the bike outside!

yep, lots of climbing. it is going to be tough but that's one of the reasons I picked it.

The weather has me worried. Not so much air temps, but the impact the winter is going to have on water temps. It's snowing again today. Unless it gets very warm very quickly, I have to think the snow is going to linger up in CT and the lake will be colder than usual for early June.

I'll be racing in the Oly. I live in NYC but work in WIlton CT area. There was snow/ice on the ground this morning.

Tri bike if you got one is my opinion. There's a lot of climbing but if I remember right the downhills aren't especially technical and you can bomb down em. The climbing is mostly concentrated with a couple of steady climbs but also rollers you can stay aero for. Then there's the climbing on the run. No equipment change will help you there...

There are some hills, for sure, but there are plenty of flats. I'd go with the tri bike. As someone mentioned, the hills aren't especially technical or long or steep.

There's a discussion going on at the link below with some people who were up there last week and have provided feedback on the course.
