I need prescription glasses again for my distance eyesight. Did great with Lasik for a number of years, until I had a retinal tear. Ugh. So now I need to go back to glasses. Does anyone wear prescription swim goggles? Cost? Any particular companies that have these? Thanks for any tips!

I use these - $23.  You can mix and match eye cups if they are different strengths.

How does $8 sound to you?

they're not full prescription, just a basic diopter correction.  But it's easily good enough for my eyes.

My husband uses some speedo optical goggles that are great and less than $25.

I don't use them, but various folks in our family do.  Tried all of the above at different times, IIRC, and no issues with any of the correction - just some fit better than others (differed by person).

The Better Half now just swims with regular goggles and contacts as she doesn't want to go to spin class from the pool with goggles on.    (I know you can't wear contacts, but the thought of my wife spinning in goggles is too good not to mention).

I'd say try from cheap to expensive and stop as soon as you get a good fit (as long as the optics work for you, but that hasn't been a problem for us).

I use AquaSphere Eagle Optics. Can order separate RX lenses for each eye. I am very happy with them. I just ordered new goggles and put the RX lenses in them.

I use these as well. They work great. Prescription is not exact, but it is close enough.

I'm another vote for the Speedo Vanquisher. I have two pair...both clear and dark. They come with 3(?) nose pieces to fit your face. My eyes are different strengths so one pair I rounded to the strong eye and one to the weak eye (there is a formula you can find online). And, personally, I like the slightly stronger lens. Neither is perfect, but I can read the pool clock.

I have been using the prescription Sporti goggles from SwimOutlet for the past two years. I found that the smoked goggles fit better than the clear ones. I can see the clock at the pool and swim buoys during a race.

My wife and I both use these. I just bought two pair of the smoke ones to supplement my clear ones. Don't tell them, but I would pay $20 a pair for them.

Sure, I look like a raccoon after a swim set, but they are cheap, they work, and they don't leak. They are more than good enough to read the pace clock, to read the sets off the whiteboard at masters, and to sight in open water.

My script is -2.5/-4.0, so I use a -2.5/-2.5 pair without problems. They don't have the astigmatism correction either, but my optometrist said it's fine for swimming use.

I bought full on prescription Goggles from my optomitrist but I never did get a good fit with them , so I switched to a close diopter match TYR Optical goggle from swimoutlet, I believe they were about 22 bucks, but they fit great, don't leak, are close enough to my prescription I went with a -7 MY actual is a minus 7.25 and a Minus 7.5 that I can see out of the water very well and have stood up great for over a year now both in the pool 3 time a week and 2 OWS a week in some pretty nasty water.

One of the best Buys ever in My book

My far sighted vision is passable, but I've been looking for correction to my near sightedness... mainly to be able to read my garmin.
I know there are bifocal goggles, but probably pricey. Searching the web, I found Hydrotac stick on bifocal lenses... Fairly economical.
Apparently you can stick them on the inside of your goggles. Anybody tried these? Thinking about giving them a shot.

After three triathlon seasons, I finally decided that I wanted to actually see well during the swim portion. My vision is not so great. I had to find better goggles.
