Not enough into to make a suggestion. Need things like neck/shoulder/hip flexibility to make any kind of determination, and that isn't something you can' do over the 'net.

You know...you may want to look at getting an aero style road bike... they're fast... and usually slightly more agressive than a road bike, but not as much as a tri bike... personally, I ride my road bike 80% of the time, about 15% on my mountain, and the remaining 5% on the tri bike. I have found that riding on the road bike has benefited me greatly... and Jordan Rapp has finally agreed to the same principal too. You can easily put on clip on aerobars and move the saddle forward on them and get pretty close to a tri bike in speed and geometry.

OT, I have a 2012 LItespeed Aero C3 frameset size medium, which is smallish too me and I'm 5' 9.5"... that I've had for sale for $650... they cost about $2,000 new or $1500 for closeout new. It's a great bike, I am semi-sponsored by a local LBS so I have been switching brands lately.

If money is an issue, I'm assuming its because you are looking a tri specific road bikes which, for a variety of reasons, generally aren't low in price. If you have a good road (non tri specific) bike, save your valuable money and keep using it for events.

If you can't find a well fitting tri bike, then no deal is worth it.

Does a degree or two difference between two frames(head and/or seat tube) really make that much of a difference when it comes to fit?

We are often asked the question, "What size frame should I buy" and the answer is “it depends”. I know that’s not the answer you want to hear, but hopefully the following will shed some more light.

I am in the process of buying my first tri bike. Because of my size my fitter suggested buying a custom frame but then I have an infinite number of choices for components, wheels, aerobars, etc.

I'm considering a road frame buildup, what considerations should I take into account when swapping all of my components from my current setup to a new frame?
