Subject: Deciding on Tri Shorts
Hi guys,

I am doing my first tri in June and cannot decide on which shorts to use. Fortunately, the tri does not require shirts so I plan on just wearing my shorts under my wetsuit (as I'm sure everyone does) and my cycling jersey when biking and wearing no shirt on the run.

Back to shorts though, I am attracted most to the Pearl Izumi LTD's, TYR Carbon 9, and Louis Garneau Course Tri Shorts. I'm a muscular build at 5'11 and 190 lb. I wear a M/T Xterra tri-wetsuit and size large Castelli biking shorts. I just want to know what everyones opinions are on these shorts and what people with a similar build to myself prefer.

I'm kinda similar to you, 5'11" and a buck sixty four. I run the large Zoot tri shorts. I've had 5 pairs. Held up pretty good the last couple of years. Use old ones for swim training when I get new ones. Even in chorine they hold up well. Except the logos which start breaking down after a year, and I'm sure the chlorine accelerates this. Seeing how I abuse them, can't ask for more from a pair of shorts..

IMO the best tri shorts are Desoto Riviera's.
