Any idea on whether or not this race will sell out quickly? I have to think the majority of people have their races already planned out for the year.

I'm thinking of adding this race to my schedule

I may be wrong, but I don't think registration had opened for that event yet.

You are correct, it didn't.

How warm is the water up there? Would this be a borderline wetsuit race?

Eagleman is today and the swim was not wetsuit legal --- pretty sure IMMD is also in the Choptank

Is the Choptank pretty shallow?

Yes. There are definitely parts of the course where you can stand.

Less than a month to go! Looks like the chatter says that it will probably not be wetsuit legal. Oh well, can't wait!

That's interesting.  It's 77.5 today so getting under 76.1 is not totally unrealistic in 25 days.

Next year they are moving the race back to October so it should be wetsuit legal by then.

Good to know on the water temp. That is totally realistic that it could be below 76 in a few weeks. An October race would seal the deal on the wetsuit for sure. Putting the race in October will be interesting and I am surprised they are already talking about that.

Weird.  In the Athlete Guide, on p22, it has the October date.  Also, here's another link to the open dates calendar, but without the word "draft" in the address, which also states a September date.

This is great news for me!!!  I now have 5 different Iron distance races to choose from that are all within a 6 hour drive from me.  4 of those are Ironman and the 5th is B2B...and all of them Fall time frame!

Actually, I found yet another open dates calendar that has a "1" at the end of the address, which makes me think it's an updated version, and this states the October date also.

It was wetsuit legal last year. And by wetsuit, I recommend strongly wearing a long sleeved one. The jellies were as bad as I've ever seen them; I've done the half 3 times and the full once so I've swam at this time in this location quite a bit. But it does vary due to the rain, salinity levels, and temperature.

Anywhere you can find a room.  Cambridge is small... not really designed for supporting an influx of 4000+ people at one time.

It seems like all the hotels close to the venue are already filled. I found a room about 45 mins to the east in Delaware.

During the race there will be plenty of opportunities to exchange bottles, so I'm thinking about going with the aero bottle and Gatorade bottle and fill up as necessary. What should I do?
