Since my tri training is not going as planned because of my work schedule and pool times, I have decided that I am going to focus on my worst event.  So starting Monday, or possibly Sunday, I am going to start on a couch to 13.1 and register for an event that will be very close to me that will be very close to the ending date of the couch to 13.1 training.  It is only a $40 registration, so I am going to pay for it early and then I have no choice, but to attend the event, because I hate wasting money.

Thanks.  I have been there before, but it has been quite a few years.  Unbelievable how quickly I let myself go after getting to that point.  I will get back there, now just to do it without any injuries and set backs.

That is cool. 13.1 half marathon is a nice distance. Remember the bike can still be your half marathon friend if you want to keep the multiple sport up some.

I am still planning on doing some swimming as my time allows and also a lot of bike riding when I can.  I really love bike riding and use to love running.

I am not going to get to run the race I was hoping and trying for.  After two weeks of off and on using the formula, I had to wake up in the middle of the night to severely swollen knees and had to take 4 days off of any exercise, because the 12 hours a day at work was enough pounding on concrete all day.  Now I am back to just bicycle on the trainer and wearing a knee brace for support while riding and icing for 15 immediately after.  CRAP!!!!  Oh well, I will make it one of my two races for next year that will be running only.

Steady is our walk. Ignoring the pain that is radiating from my feet, I continue to place one foot in front of the other. Again I wonder, “Why am I doing this?”

From couch potato to a tri in 8 weeks. It was the most fun I've had in a long time. The race organizers had it down and there were no problems at all. This was the perfect first tri, in my opinion.

First, with your upcoming 5K, I strongly advise you to check out the “Couch to 5K” training schedule. This training schedule is a GREAT way to get back into running safely and wisely.

This program should be used for an athlete who is coming off the couch! No prerequisites required! This program is very basic and is a ‘get me by’ type of program.
