Comments:

Run went well. In my haste to get dressed and get the proper clothes on for therain, I managed to leave my watch at the hotel. I wasn't trying to set any records, so I was just going to run a nice comfortable pace. I ran with a guy for the first 16 miles, but then he dropped back. Ran 1:47:30 for the first half. I actually felt better the second half of the race. I did slow a bit, but never felt too bad. Never walked more than 20ft thru any water stops, and really felt good til ~24.5 or so. managed to hold it together and finished pretty strong. Best I'v'e felt through an entire race. We got very lucky with the rain - calling for storms all morning. It sprinkled for the first 2 miles, but then it cleared off and began sprinkling again at mile 25. 5 minutes after finishing, it started to pour, and it poured the entire rest of teh day.
What would you do differently?:

nothing
Post race
Warm down:

there was no one waiting for a massage, so I was able to get a massage. It started pouring down rain right as I finished. I was actually able to jog the ~600m back to my car and didn't feel too bad.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

nothing

Event comments:

Nice small race. Well organized. Boring course, though

So, since my beloved go-to shoe brand has changed its shoe, after reading the bruhaha about the minimalist shoe, I decided to give it a try. Now I have a foot issue with my arch area.

I signed up for Ironman Frankfurt, next year July - and I am very excited about it. I originally planned to run my first Marathon in the middle of September, but am not sure if this is wise.

Both the Lake Triathlon Shoe CX210TRI and the Lake Road Shoe CX225 offer distinct advantages. I tested both shoes and found them to be extremely comfortable, good looking and durable.
