Geez -updating swim buddy Jordan Lake is difficult

No interest on my part to swim in Jordan except on June 1st...

Any idea what the water temp is out there right now? Would like to get some OWS in over the next month.

I swam in Falls lake this past weekend, it was chilly, but doable with a wetsuit. Falls and Jordan Lake are pretty similar in temp. I might try to get a swim/bike in this Sunday if the weather is suitable. Right now it looks nice.
May aim to get out to Vista Point area around 1:30 or so. Do you have any interest? Where is this cove you speak of?

I swam at beaver dam today and made a swim/bike out of it. Where do ya'll swim at falls lake? I'd be interested in a OWS at Falls, but Jordan is just a little too far for me to drive for a workout.

I'm super new to the whole tri thing, doing my first mini- Ramblin Rose, May 18th. This one is pool but a friend of mine has been working on me to do the Triangle Tri in July next, which is OWS.

All this to say I'm curious and will NEED to do it, but prob not until June-ish

Not sure what type of swimmer you are but you will absolutely want to swim in open water prior to your race. I, for one, will be taking some time off post June 1st, so probably wont do too much in terms of open water swims after that date. At least not for a few weeks.

Hey didn't know if you were still looking for open water swim or if you had created a schedule? I am looking to go a few times this week as my OWS race is looming and the pool I usually swim at is apparently closed (although the website still has open swim listed. Frustrating? Yes.) I will be in Raleigh on and off this week, Monday and Tuesday in the morning and Wed-Fri in the afternoon. Hoping that something with a group was scheduled and saw this. Fingers crossed.

The beaver dam (Beaverdam Open Water/Track/Triathlon Training Group)(Falls Lake) group swims every Sunday at 5 and Wednesday at 6. Sometimes other days just post on the Facebook group when you are looking to swim.
