I've been using my old pedals on a new bike and one has finally dies and is now clicking and grinding.

Do you need to realign cleats when pedals are replaced ?
I'm most likely replacing with the same brand but a better groupset.

The Horse Trailer Blue Book provides the industry with a bonafide instrument of valuation to finance companies. Not having a horse trailer blue book was not an option and we're happy to keep this important publication going." stated Dave Mattern with Horse Trailer World.

If the pedals are from the same brand and use the same cleats, then no, cleats should be fine (big question is, how worn are the cleats though…)

clicking and grinding may just mean you need to replace the bearings. 15 miunte job and $5- $15 in parts.

I would watch carefully. If you have any knee or ankle discomfort, don't let it get away from you and re-align. Each pedal has a "Q factor" which may vary. This is the measure of how far away from the crank arm the platform lies.

It may seem minor, but I'd at least keep it in mind and solve it later if it crops up as a problem.

Same pedals just newer no need to adjust cleats. You will likely need to replace cleats much more often than pedals. I usually need new cleats once a year and only have worn out one pair of pedals in maybe 3-4 years of riding.

When replacing your cleats trace where they are with permanent marker that you can see well like gold on sole of your shoe. If you want to use same cleat position on a new pair of shoes there is a nifty tool to do so that comes in various cleat types for both road and mtb.
