Subject: Anybody doing Asbury Park
Hey all,
I just registered for TriRock Asbury Park, Intermediate Race. Anybody else in? Not so worried about the bike/run, but a 1500 meter ocean swim's going to be tough. Any recommendations for training for the ocean swim? I regularly go to a local Jersey beach, so I'm wondering if I can train while the family's lounging.

At first I thought, "Oh boy, what a mistake!" Let’s face it, I could barely run half a mile, I had not swum in forever, and my biking skills were not great, to say the least.

I quickly browsed an article in Men's Health that talked about doing a triathlon, and how it wasn't really that hard. With a "tsk!" I quickly turned the page while thinking, "Yeah, right!"

My sister warned me about being used as a launch ramp by faster swimmers but much to my surprise I was the one swimming over those in front of me. I went around one woman, then another.
