I have a friend that is looking to buy a used Felt B-14, model year 2012 for $1200. I'm not sure what condition the bike is in, but assuming great condition, is this a good deal, or no? I noticed the MSRP on a new 2014 is $2199. I'm thinking they are asking too much, but who knows... maybe the bike is in practically new condition...

Not sure about this one, but if I'm not completely wrong, there was not B14 in 2012… The 2011 model was full Dura-Ace (with an MSRP of $2999) and the 2013 was SRAM Rival (with MSRP of $2199).

Normally, 50% of MSRP is about right, so the price is in the right ballpark. Also, take a look at what components and wheels are on the bike… things may have been upgraded.

Thanks. Yeah that's what I initially thought. You just verified that it's definitely not a 2012. It's a 2011 model. The one they are selling is full dura-ace. Original wheels are on the bike.

I agree that the price is in the right ballpark.

Your friend does need to worry about the fit.  Felts are notoriously long and low frames similar to the older Cervelos.  Out of the box they're not a frame that will fit everyone.  If your friend is more legs than torso the Felt could be a less than ideal match.  New stem, bars and all that could be put on the bike to make it work but that could be an extra few hundred dollars.  Or it could fit him fine.

Price is good if the bike fits your friend.
