So - has anyone heard if this is really going to happen or not? Last I head/read over on slowtwitch the race still hasn't officially be transferred to the new owners yet, so they haven't been able to re-open registration. We're getting awful close to the start... hope things work out. I've done this race the past two years, and even though it's a brutal way to start the season - my wife and I keep coming back for more. I hope they're able to work out the financials to keep it going...

Looks like a go... they reopened registration. And there is a list of registered participants as well so you can check that it carried over to Ulman.

Interestingly it says the swim will be a TT start.

That's great news! I just got my email today that everything is back up and running ... and we're on the per-registered list. . Only a few weeks to go!

Haven't done a TT swim start before... that should be fun.

HOORAY!! Found my name on the registered list - glad that carried over.

This will be my first Columbia. I need to get down there soon to pre-run the bike and run course.

This TT start thing sounds interesting. Will it still be in-water or do you get to run down the ramp next to someone?

I am really glad this race is on.  I registered last year.

The TT start will probably be off a ramp two at a time.  This is what was done at Half Full last year.  Seemed to work pretty well.

Just curious why you say this race is a "brutal" way to start the season. I'm doing for first time.....any info you can share? Thanks

Perhaps "brutal" was too strong a word... I love the race - my wife complains about it every year, but yet somehow she still comes along, and actually does quite well in it. The bike is moderately hilly - not overly so - but it's not a flat-and-fast screamer of a course like many other races. The kicker I feel is the run. It has lots of short steep hills spread out throughout. It's a beautiful run around the lake and through the local neighborhoods - just be ready for some hills.

Hello everyone, just checking in on those registered for Columbia 2015. I missed last year due to the org switch from Tri Columbia to Ulman. I'm in for this year, but I cant seem to get any more info on the race other than you can still register for it on Active. The UCF page seems to be down, and I'm wondering if there are any open issues this year with the management of the race? I'm assuming we are all still a go!

PS - anyone excited for the hills?!
