Subject: Shoe suggestion?
Here's the deal. I'm absolutely hooked on the Asics Gel-Nimbus line of running shoes. They are pretty much perfect for my mid-foot strike and neutral pronation, and the have the perfect amount of cushioning that my feet need with my 230ish pound frame above them.

I'm in the market to replace my worn out Nimbus 14's. The Bride Unit has given me a $150 budget to work with for running shoes, but I also need a new saddle for the bike and new pedals.
Where I have no intention on getting an cheap enough running shoe to afford all three items on $150, I want to at least save enough on shoes to get new pedals for the bike. I'll spring for a decent saddle in a couple months.

The big question is this... Who can recommend a shoe in the $90 to $100 price range that is roughly comparable to the Gel-Nimbus or even the very similar Gel-Cumulus. I'm not in a position to be a brand snob right now, so any input is welcome!

I have the Brooks Dyad's. Plenty of room and cushioning. Very comfortable.

So, since my beloved go-to shoe brand has changed its shoe, after reading the bruhaha about the minimalist shoe, I decided to give it a try. Now I have a foot issue with my arch area.

Both the Lake Triathlon Shoe CX210TRI and the Lake Road Shoe CX225 offer distinct advantages. I tested both shoes and found them to be extremely comfortable, good looking and durable.

I started riding this spring with the Carnac shoes on Look pedals (with plenty of float). About five minutes into a ride I get sharp pain on the outer edge of my feet, just behind the pedal.

They are comfortable, but on longer runs the ball of my foot starts to heat up. I actually had to STOP, take off the shoe, massage my foot. This would help for a while, but the pain usually returned.
