I picked this as my first triathlon and now I'm feeling a little overwhelmed. I'm a distance runner and ok on the bike but the swim has me worried. Any advice?

Be comfortable swimming the distance (in open water)

Otherwise, you should be fine.

First race should be about having fun, not stressing.

FCF is a great race. It was my first Oly distance race. Agree with previous poster - get comfortable in open water and with the swim distance. The swim is in a small lake. Race is a wave start with various age groups. I'd guess no more than 60 people in my wave the year I did it. Very little contact on the swim and water was very calm. Spend lots of time swimming over next few months. You won't regret it.

Thanks guys. Getting comfortable in the open water is my goal. My first attempt at open water last weekend didn't go well. I was going about .3 miles and found myself panicking when I tried to breathe. I ended up flipping on my back quite a bit. Hopefully I'll get more relaxed.
