I like to think that Tucker was like "hey, no one has puked around here in days! I'm going to fix that"

Geez o pete.  Poor Tucker is in a bit of a tizzy because he misses Charlie (My cat that died recently) and they were very bonded.  And Tucker HATES Oliver.  In his defense Oliver is a complete brat.  Tucker is just a sensitive little guy poor booger.

Sometimes things actually work out to my favor!

Got a last second request to attend a meeting in Chicago next Monday and my quick trip to STL was next Friday.  NOW, the company is flying me from Chicago to STL for less money than back here.  I get to save on one half the flight I bought and only pay from STL to Vegas.

Get a free day in Chicago to walk and take pictures, start my vacation a bit early.  Thought about being adventurous and taking the train from CHI to STL but the time and some other issues made me rule it out.  But I love trains and such.  Plus 70 bucks is CHEAP for a one way...

It's a win, win, win...  Triple win...

I am SOOOOOO glad the election crap is mostly over and I don't get anymore paper in the mail, posters on walls, TV and radio ads.........

How many more days before they start the next election advertising that we won't vote for 2 more sticking years.  90 days?  120?

Clearly I don't have the same phone-fu as I got busted early on in our latest VC.  Possibly because I was also closest to the camera, but I couldn't help that - last one into the room and got the crappiest seat.

Yikes, 6 hour video conference call? Did they turn it into the dreaded "lunch meeting" or give you a break in the middle?

yeah it was a working lunch. It finally turned into a "dare session" via Lync. I dared a dude to flap his arms like a bird, he dared me to do the wave with my arms. It made it pretty funny, but by the end of the day, everything was getting silly

I feel like productivity would take a sharp decline after hour 1 or so...

Absolutely.

Nothing good can come from any video conference that lasts that long.

SO, I jinxed myself.  I announced how something actually worked out in my favor...  BAD idea.

After canceling my personal flights because I could workout the company bought flights to my favor (and theirs, since it was cheaper for them) they CANCELED the work trip.  So now I don't have a ticket to go home...

Go back online to get my original flight back?  And of course the same ticket I had in my pocket but canceled 24 hours earlier is NOW $175 more...

So, no trip to Chicago.  No extra vacation days, and paid $175 MORE dollars to re-buy a flight I already bought but canceled.

IHML...

Let me add in full disclosure - after some debate with my boss, I will be expensing $140 of that and they said that they will reimburse me due to the last second changes.  Can't get the full amount for long and boring reasons.

I went for a bike ride in Atlanta today.  My bike is just great to ride.  With wide wheels and 25 mm tires, it is  like a cyclocross bike. The drive train is clean, quiet and perfectly tuned.  The weather was glorious.  I almost got run over only once.  It was a great ride.

Happy Monday Yes the polar vortex has hit FL too. It was 61 this am so everyone is in parkas despite the fact its warmed up into the high 70s now Gotta love it.  <y office is ridiculously slow.  I did get my rehearsal dinner ordered.  I need something to keep me busy. Maybe I can start knitting again or something.

It's all the way up to 57 here and sunny.  Running around in shorts & t-shirt,wishing I had opted for flip flops this morning.

It's going down  as low as 26 Sunday, so I'm definitely going to have to start thinking about wearing socks.

It hit last night.  19 degrees with a wind chill of 8 degrees and there is snow covering the grass here in southwest Iowa.  Might get to a high of 32 today.  Oh well, that is normal for us to have a change like this for a week or so and then warm up again for a few weeks.

Noice!!

I did CrossFit for the first time ever Saturday evening as part of the Team RWB "WOD with Warriors" thing for Veteran's Day and I have been a giant bag of pain since.  Arms, legs, and core are all kinds of hurty.

Temps were 60+ here today, dropping into the 30's starting tomorrow with the dreaded "S"-word coming later this week.  I hate winter.

To avoid a myriad of injuries (joint pain to your knees, ankles, hips, shin splints, foot pain, bruises), it’s invaluable to find the right running shoes.
