I did CrossFit for the first time ever Saturday evening as part of the Team RWB "WOD with Warriors" thing for Veteran's Day and I have been a giant bag of pain since.  Arms, legs, and core are all kinds of hurty.

Temps were 60+ here today, dropping into the 30's starting tomorrow with the dreaded "S"-word coming later this week.  I hate winter.

I'm still tempted to try CF even if I do get the total smack-down from tri people.  Maybe one day I'll give it a whirl, but in the meantime I've signed up to try an aerial silks class in a little over a week.  WOOOT!

i am super jealous of the aerial silks, btw.

At the resort I stayed at in Mexico, one of the nightly SUPER CHEESY entertainment shows included an aerial silks bit. It was super interesting as first there was a girl doing it, then a GUY got up and did it, then they did it TOGETHER! I have never seen a man do silks.

I have a video, I should post it to FB. I didn't know whether to laugh or applaud. I think I did both.

Price is really the main reason why I haven't tried CF yet.  Maybe if I find a Groupon or something I'll try it out, but no freakin' way am I paying $200/month for anything other than rent or mortgage!

I found a deal online for a beginner's "try it out" class for $10!  I'm probably going to love it and end up signing up for classes, and then want to try trapeze, the hoop thingy, and whatever else I can play around on.  I fear this is the beginning of a slippery slope into a pit of cirque du soleil madness...

I went to a show Halloween weekend where a guy was doing the suspended hoop thingy and it was just all kinds of wrong and I ended up wincing a lot of the time... I felt really bad for the guy, he was trying really hard, but in the end the audience had no idea when or if they were supposed to applaud.

Just had a legit earthquake! 4.8 about 20 miles south of me. I've felt 3 or 4 in the last few years, this was the strongest by far!

We're in Los Angeles.  All's quiet here.  Let's hope it stays that way.

Hope so too! With barely any damage it was kind of "exciting" but I know how quickly that can change as the magnitude increases. Yesterday's was a 4.8 and historically Kansas's strongest earthquake was 5.1 in 1867.

Oh yeah. Kansas has not been thought of an active seismic area. Until now.TW

I think my post in COJ was deleted. That has never happened. I meant to add a post to TAN but it went in as a new thread. It had no subject because of my mistake. No one responded to it all day and now it has been deleted. Welcome back I suppose.TW

How awesome for Friday to be 8 degrees to start the day and to find out it is supposed to snow on Saturday.  Loving southwest Iowa.  :-)

I shaved my goatee for a Halloween costume, the bare chin drove me crazy!

As I started to grow it back I let the rest of my face/neck start to come in and I was reminded why I don't have a full beard: the itching, oh the itching!

bare chin annoyed me when I shaved mine last year too! I do a half-assed version of No-Shave November in that I still shave my neck up to the jaw line. The beard never bothers me except on my neck/under my chin

Highs in the 70s and lows in the 50s in Arizona.

I left Missouri when it was 20 degrees with light snow.

It feels great here

I'm in Los Angeles for a couple of weeks.  Highs in the 70's lows in the 50's also.  Unfortunately, I have a cold so I've not been enjoying the weather.

To avoid a myriad of injuries (joint pain to your knees, ankles, hips, shin splints, foot pain, bruises), it’s invaluable to find the right running shoes.
