TAN reunion day? Hey old timers...

Hi Lisa,

I have a free day today at work and started thinking about getting back into some shape.......TAN seemed like a good place to start!

Your trip looked fabulous?

It waaaaaaaaaaaas
I am now obsessed with Latin music and am going to learn Spanish. I had some inspiration on the cruise.

I asked the question about Rosetta stone on BT a couple times and never really heard any definitive feedback.  I finally pulled the trigger on French and got half way through it.  It's pretty good.  It's getting hard, so it slowed me down because I have to work at it a bit more.  But I did get by in France last fall - had entire "basic" conversations in French.

I'm tempted to buy Spanish.  1/3 of my office can speak it so I have an opportunity to practice it in real life every day.  That would be helpful.

I ALSO get hooked with the food and music and language of everywhere I visit!  So far, I have about 12 languages I want to learn!  Also doing a lot of Cajun cooking since the last big trip was NOLA for a week.

If NOLA only had white sand beaches and crystal clear water near by it would be the perfect weekend jaunt.

Hi TANners, (if anyone is here)?

Just read the thread where did all the BTers go?  Interesting, maybe they should bring back the SUIT thread with some men....I know I would look!  .

Anywho, been out running and biking routinely and feeling strong, maybe a race in my future?!?

Interesting view on my ride this morning.  Cute little young blonde doctor (maybe nurse) who came outside the children's hospital at 5:45am to smoke a big fat cigar.  Just weird that is all!

I've just gotta ask...What is this "TAN" thing? I've read through the string trying to figure it out, but I feel like an old person trying to decipher teenage slang. So what's the deal? Also, what's a SUIT thread? Sounds more interesting than the normal BT talk.

"Thread about nothing".  It started out as ongoing thread for off-topic conversations.  It eventually became a gathering place for some regulars.  At its best, it was funny, friendly, intelligent, and inclusive.  It has sort died off mainly from the regulars moving on.

There is a site limit for the number of pages in a thread. Whenever the current TAN thread reached that limit or was close, then a new TAN would be started.  Hence there are many frozen TAN threads in the archives.

Occasionally, someone would step a bit out of bounds in TAN and the management would step in and delete the thread and the guilty party would disappear for a while or sometimes permanently if the offense was great enough.

Feel free to participate if you wish to revive the TAN tradition.

As an infrequent contributer, yet a reader of the thread none the less, I was under the impression that one of the rules of TAN is much like Fight Club  And IIRC, the Suit thread is one in which people were encouraged to post pics of themselves in a suit. Suit type was of your discretion.

It's hard to believe, but our little TAN is 28 months old already!
Why, it seems like just yesterday it was born.

Maybe there is a cosmic relationship between TAN and how often I swim.

P.S. I got in the pool for the first time since January today.

To avoid a myriad of injuries (joint pain to your knees, ankles, hips, shin splints, foot pain, bruises), it’s invaluable to find the right running shoes.
