I only visited Texas when I did my one week a year with my father and sometimes a Christmas holiday when my parents were divorced.  He taught at UTA and then at UTSA when it opened up.  So my version is nowhere near current, but I only was there long enough to see the tourist sites, and thought it was over crowded way back then.  :-)

i like cities, trying to talk mr meh into living downtown, he HATES people and crowds, so we shall see!

REMEMBER THE ALAMOOOOOOO

Did I miss that you got a new job in San Antonio?  Isn't that going to put your way too close to Tony?

mr meh got a job in san antonio, so i will have to find one there.  plus side, puts me closer to monica!  :-D

There is the Monica which is a plus, but then there is that short guy.  Good luck on finding a job there and hopefully an easy move.  I hate moving and haven't moved in 13 years.

Welcome to TX. What part of SA is your husband working. I live west of Austin and travel to SA frequently. SA is a big city. New Braunfels is still sort of a small town and 30 min north of SA and 45 min south of Austin. Bourne is north of San Antonio on 281 out in the Hill Country. Nice place.
Depends on what you and the hubby like. San Antonio Rock and Roll Marathon is good, Austin has the statesman 10K and all kinds of wackey runs.
I hope you like it. You will not have near the humidity in SA than the east coast but it does get hot in Aug and Sept.
I hope you all like it.

Today's Pandora station just loud enough so everyone can hear: Boy bands.
And there is accompanying singing. Out loud!

Special 2D wire bender computer fried and just spend $3000 on a NOS that doesn't fit the machine and we have been down for 3 days now.  Going to be shutting down the entire plant by 3:00 p.m. today.  But, on the good side they can deal with it, as I will be flying to D.C. to meet family for the Marine Marathon this weekend and my B-I-L is running in it.  Surely they can survive two days without the plant manager in the building.....right????

I would hope so, but I am sure my phone will be going off with emails, texts and phone calls.  Oh well.  I chose to take the job in the first place, so I will work more hours when I get back.  :-)

It's been awfully quite around these parts nowadays. Little brief bursts of life then quiet... oh so quiet... not even the crickets.

I was away from my computer for 4 days and TAN is still on the same page as when I left it.

And to answer the question, no they can't seem to get anything done while I am gone.  The owner of the company came down and it made things worse from what I can tell.

Ugh.  No bueno.

I wish it was different, but I really, really, REALLY dislike my job right now.  It's become exactly what I was told my job was NOT going to be.  Blargh.

On the bright side - I don't have to deal with Chicago winters ever again.

Monica - that sucks with the new job, but Chicago winters are very close and we have already been below freezing a few nights in southwest Iowa, so I am sure Chicago is worse.

Meh - We were in DC and had reservations at the Old Ebbitt Grill near the white house two days before the BIL ran the marathon.  The food there is awesome.  Not cheap, but awesome.  I had the best crap cake I have ever had that night.

Does that get us back to the food part of TAN.

Food talk. Two weeks until I leave central MO and have access to interesting food again I've got a list of places to hit in Tucson while I'm back there. CAN NOT WAIT!

Job talk: can only land a phone interview in Newport News. Not crazy about not benig there in person prior to accepting. Considering bagging the whole thing, returning to AZ and working until grant $$ runs out again...

To avoid a myriad of injuries (joint pain to your knees, ankles, hips, shin splints, foot pain, bruises), it’s invaluable to find the right running shoes.
