Swim
Comments: Good effort. Again, I slightly delayed my start and started on the left hand side. Drove a very nice line and got around the washing machine. I found a nice draft for the rest of the up leg. I surged and dropped him between the buoys at the far end. Again, lots of people took a very wide line on the back leg. I stayed to the buoy line and felt good to the finish. What would you do differently?: I wonder what would happen if I would actually swim consistently? Transition 1
Comments: F'in speed suit zipper got stuck again. It took me a few seconds to get out of it. I was rather slow on the helmet on and grab the bike sequence. Otherwise, it was ok. With the shoes on the bile already, I managed to improve on the disaster of Tanner. Good jump on the bike and quick entry into the shoes. What would you do differently?: Need to figure out why the zipper is getting snagged as this is the second time. It was the 6th fastest in AG,so it was a respectable showing. However, I know I left 10 seconds in T1. Bike
Comments: The course has some rollers so it was hard to get a good rhythm. I was pushing hard the first 7 then started to think about the run. I was yo-yo-ing w some guys which is always good. Backed off slightly. I hammered the flats when they came, but did not push the hills. I think I backed off a little too much in the last mile. I know I am capable of better. What would you do differently?: I wonder what would happen if I would ride consistently? Transition 2
Comments: Good jump off the bike and ran to my spot. Had a little delay on getting the bike on the rack. Since i switched to normal run shoes, I had to sit down and put them on. Sad to say, I wasted time because I did not install my speed laces. Grabbed my hat and number belt then ran for the exit. It was the 6th fastest in AG, so again an improvement over Tanner. What would you do differently?: speed laces or switch to racing in Zoot shoes. Run
Comments: About the same result as Tanner, but this is a much harder run course. I did not commit on this run and deal with the hurt locker. Bottom line, the mental game was not strong. What would you do differently?: I need to do some 5K specific work before the next race. Post race
Warm down: Quick exit as Chris needed to get back. What limited your ability to perform faster: volume of work outs and lack of speed work on the run. Last updated: 2014-04-27 12:00 AM

Loaded up the car the night before. Drove down to Chris' house and off we go at 5:45 AM. Great to have the opportunity to car pool with Chris the last two races. Always a good conversation.
Registration was easy, quick set up and some good conversation.
I swam the whole course. I needed to loosen up the shoulders. I really have not swum much over the last month and was nervous about what I had in me.
