Anyone in Charlotte area planning to preview the Augusta 1/2IM bike course? There are 3-4 of us in our group that are looking at going down there July 5. Is anyone else planning a date for this? Seems there are a lot of folks from Charlotte doing this one.

There are also some good previews of the course on YouTube.  It is divided into parts.  That's an awesome fun race!

agree that it's a fun race! one of my favs.

The swim is as good as you can get. FAST.

The roads are, for the most part, pretty good. The hills are not bad. Spin up them, at a constant effort, and you'll be fine. It is a crowded course, though, especially the further back you come out of the water, but that's something you have to deal with. Careful at the dismount. Some ppl STOP at the dismount line and block everyone behind them. Careful there!

I got about a minute into it and, despite bracing myself against it for months, I panicked. I could not get my breath. I said, "I can't do this, I can't do this."
