Ok I'm in Philly for 10 days or so. Today I ran 8 miles and ran up the museum steps. I said I wouldn't do it then for some reason this morning I just got pulled in that direction. Do I need to go to some kind of counseling for tacky movie reenactments? I didn't jump around at the top and I didn't cry about it.

You actually did it well the rest of us only fantasize about it. That's the difference between you and teh rest of us.

My condolences to you for being stuck in Philadelphia. WC Fields is laughing at you in his grave.

I think the amount of counseling you need is directly proportional to how close to the center of the staircase you were running up. If you were running up the side, you're good. Right in the middle, you're beyond help.

What time did you go up the stairs? I was there this morning with the huge group of people at the top of the stairs doing push ups/sit ups.

I laugh everytime I go by there and see people doing it.  I admit, I have done it myself.

I just hope you didn't follow it up with waiting in line to get your picture taken with the statue!

There's still time to attempt to run the full course:

For your penance, you MUST sign up for the Philadelphia Marathon.

Many people do it - its a common sight. Nobody that saw you do it likely thought anything of it

Did you organize a group of children to chase you?

For the record, this is something I've wanted to do, well, the steps part, for a while, but the last few times I have been in Philly the weather was just terrible. It's on the list though. Be proud of it.

I was in Downtown Philly last summer on business and yes, I ran up the steps at the museum with the Rocky theme in my head. No shame, everyone does it.

Be proud!  My boyfriend and son both ran the steps, jumped around, AND had photo taken with statue (back in 2007).

I ran the steps too, but have no evidence of it.

The last time I was in Philly was before I started running. If I ever go back, I am doing that. At Savageman last year (maybe they are there every year, it was my first year racing) someone at the top of a hill on the run was playing the Rocky theme song. I pumped my arms in the air and did the side-to-side bounce.

Also, this spring when I rode by bike across Death Valley, I took my running shoes and ran a mile at Badwater. Yeah, I'm a dork.

I live in Philly and IMO you need counseling if you don't do it.

Ok thanks. Yes it was in the morning and there was actually a girl planking sideways up the stairs. I snuck up the left side then across the front and down the other side. Not in the middle. I did not race any kids and I did no test raw eggs. I wore mizunos, no hoodie and I have no hair so I didn't look like I was going as fast no hair blowing. Someone asked me I took a picture with the statue, but I ran by and didn't even see the statue. I thought it was only in the movie

The statue moves...it used to be at the spectrum(before it was torn down, and the last time i was there it was at the bottom of the stairs way off to the side. My understanding was that the art museum didn't consider it "art" and didn't want it there. I think they suck!

Statues should not move. Haven't they seen "Dr. Who"?

Stallone actually wanted to have the statue right up top and in the middle, where the plaque is. The museum did not agree...
