Subject: RE: Pre workout drink and post recovery drink Pre-workout: Coffee? Not entirely in jest. It certainly helps my workouts, esp. early AM, go better, and makes me feel less sluggish! Before a ride, I usually just eat a normal breakfast. Before a run, something light like a granola or energy bar or some fruit. I avoid those special sports drinks (except for electrolyte tabs in my water ) as they tend to upset my stomach. There are plenty of "recovery" drinks; others swear by plain old chocolate milk or you can use a blender and make your own smoothies with yogurt, fruit, nut butter or protein powder to get some calories, protein, and carbs into you quickly when you may not be ready for a full-on meal yet. Or just eat food. Edited by Hot Runner 2014-06-20 9:58 AM
