Subject: Quad tendonitis on the bike and 7 weeks from IM I've developed knee pain while cycling above my patella where the quad tendon attaches. It started about 6 weeks ago and probably was brought on by a lot of climbing on my tri bike. At this point I am looking for ways to manage the injury and still keep some sort of training going as I am 7 weeks from IM Boulder. I've switched my biking to the trainer as any really ascending aggravates it. I'm doing PT, icing it, and will do some Ibuprofen flooding. I also stretch the quad religiously and roll the quad daily. I also had my bike fit looked at again and we made some minor cleat adjustments. Has anyone had any luck with any taping techniques, knee braces, etc. for a quick fix? Anything else that has helped with this? I understand rest is the key but it's really not an option for me right now. |
