I have no idea what this is about and didn't read the article, but I figured if it's about something aero this group would be interested.

They ruled against Aereo Streaming. Does this mean we can not use our tri bike anymore since that is Aero streaming?

Interesting case from that article but I think they made the right call.

Now if it was like a sling box where they could stream there own captured signal then I would be against it.

I think they made the right call as well.  I know they were arguing a technicality, but in effect they were broadcasting somebody elses content and getting paid for it.

The beauty of slingbox is they don't make any money other than the initial hardware sale.  So, they're not getting a monthly fee to "broadcast content".  It's just a remote display of your TV.

I also have Comcast and am disappointed that I cannot watch ITU races and most of the Diamond League track and field meets because we cannot get Universal Sports.

I should look into a sling box from my parents home who have an antenna. I have a tv turner card for a pc I am not using. Maybe I need to create my own dvr I can keep there. I could remote into the PC and get the races.

I have a slingbox on the TV in our bedroom that we almost never watch.  They allow you to create multiple guest accounts and I have 4 or 5 friends that have guest accounts on it.

It appears now they are working to be classified as a cable operator. I'm hoping that this leads to more options for watching regular television stations.

If they get classified as a cable operator, you'll have to pay the same amount as any other cable company as licensing and rebroadcast/retransmission fees are outrageous.

Odd, since they are part of the same mega-corporation, Comcast/Universal/NBC; I have Verizon Fios and get Universal Sports.

If you looks on the list you can get it if you have

timewarner, fois, dish, direct tv, google fiber, bright house, Cox.

They have links so you can request to other companies on their facebook page

comcast
at&t uverse
cablevision
cableone

http://universalsports.com/tv-listings/channel-finder/

Great point they own it and yet do not have it.

But you'd be able to watch it on any device where ever you want. That is cool.
