Pre-race routine:

Event warmup:

Only managed to get about a 2 mile ride and a few hundred yard swim.
Swim
  • 08m 24s
  • 500 meters
  • 01m 41s / 100 meters
Comments:

Probably had a little more to give here, but not a bad effort considering I hacen't been in the water quite as much recently.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Transition 1
  • 01m 29s
Comments:

A little slower than it should have been, but not bad.
What would you do differently?:

Just get out of the wetsuit faster
Bike
  • 35m 28s
  • 12.4 miles
  • 20.98 mile/hr
Comments:

Not bad...first real ride on the new wheels. Probably could've pushed a little harder on the first half.
What would you do differently?:

Not much
Transition 2
  • 00m 44s
Comments:

Not bad.
What would you do differently?:

nothing.
Run
  • 25m 43s
  • 5 kms
  • 05m 08s  min/km
Comments:

Felt terrible. Tired legs, bad breathing...got slower each successive mile. Not a fun run. Really wanted to give up halfway through.
What would you do differently?:

More bricks...legs just felt heavy, but I should have been able to push through better.
Post race
Warm down:

Hung around and talked with some friends, waited for awards

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Poor run!

I was passing others who were saying, "Good job, 587" (that was my race number). People were cheering me on. These were the nicest people I have ever been around!
