Wow that's something we don't see often, or ever, an injury report from ICU. Very glad it wasn't worse. Get well soon!

Sorry to hear of your accident- pretty gnarly wreck!!

On April 4th this year while racing desert MX I crashed pretty good & was airlifted to ICU- Broken clavicle in 3 places, 6 broken ribs collapsed lung and concussion. Recovery has been relatively easy due to being in such good shape and I suspect you'll be surprised at how quickly you bounce back. HAng in there- stay positive and good luck with getting healthy

Hope you heal up quickly and get discharged soon!

My husband had double pulmonary embolism back in December and it took him a long time to recover.

I didn't know we had that many ribs...sounds like you broke all of yours.

Do you recall how you landed?

Be strong! You will get through this!

There are (12) pair of ribs- 12 each side FYI. Also for the record women have the same amount of ribs as men....... Looks like Adam didn't have to give one up for Eve

Godspeed in your recovery!

Helmets save lives! I crushed mine landing on a boulder while rolling down a hill last year. I won't ride down the street without mine.

Rest well..

Good luck in your recovery. My crash a month ago wasn't quite as bad, sprinting in a criterium, but still broke my clavicle, cracked my helmet, and probably cracked a couple ribs.

Doc said to eat lots of calcium-rich foods; yogurt, cheese, milk, etc to speed bone healing.

Deep breathing, coughing, and sneezing were pretty painful for the first week, but has gotten a lot better since. Didn't have to stay in the hospital, at the time the only complaint was the collar bone.

Yep, crash ended my season 2 years ago. Separated shoulder but I avoided the stay in the ICU. Hope you mend quickly and get back out there soon.

POIDH ? really ?? You want a pic of my backside ? It's kinda gross -all black, blue, purple and yellow.
The clavicle area is the same.
I'm STILL in the hospital. I am going home tomorrow hopefully.

And I must thank everyone for their well wishes and good feelings.

Yikes. I'm glad to hear that you're still with us, though. That's one serious crash.

You will bounce back. Hang on in there.

I went into the pool area (as this was a pool swim) and got body marked. That's when it hit me that I was there to race - this was not a clinic.

If you develop a strategy for the off-season, you can go into the next season stronger than you ended the past season.
