Subject: Roka SIM Swim Jammers - FAST!!
I was shopping on SwimOutlet for a new TYR swim square brief and on a whim bought the Roka SIM Jammers on sale. I had read about them and their use and don't plan to do all workouts with them. This summer season, starting Jun 1st when our local county public pool opens, all I had to swim in were my Nike jogging baggy shorts. So, I have been in them swimming for about a month, doing 4 sessions a week. Then I bought the Tyr briefs and Roka SIM jammers. I used the Roka jammers this Tuesday for a 20 x 100 set @ pace zone 4. Let's just say this: with the Nike shorts, I'd be about 1:33 ish avg. on these sets b/c of the drag. But, with these Jammers... my average pace was 1:23 to 1:24 (SCY), .... so I tightened up the intervals after the first 2 from 1:50 to 1:45... but as I tired on the last 3, the intervals were 1:25-1:26.

I'm pretty impressed with them... and I can see as I've made progress with endurance and form, that I could attempt to swim that set on 1:35 in the not to distant future.

Anyways...my new question is: would these Roka SIM jammers be legal on a non wetsuit legal swim?

Yah, I was kind of asking tongue and cheek, but was also hoping for a yes

Should I remove the PD Jammers bars and ride it as is, set-up for riding in the drops and hoods? Should I run my Easton Orion II wheels or my Hed Jet60 C2's for IMWI?

I don't really strength train (because I never have and don't really know much about it) and feel like my lack of upper body strength is the reason why I'm not getting faster.

Many people in the triathlon world think they need to just emulate Ian Thorpe to have a faster time, or have a similar stroke to Michael Phelps to cruise through the swim. Unfortunately...
