Subject: Felt Z100 or Specialized Allez
Both 2011 year
Both appear to be in good condition

Felt is a little more $ and a little further away to pickup.

Specialized is closer and has some extras.

Lets call the difference about $100 with all this factored in

Felt has Shimano Sora

Specialized has Shimano 2300

both same size and otherwise stock.

Im heavily leaning toward the specialized as this is my 'beginner - entry level' bike and there is a negligible difference between the Sora and the 2300.
and Use the $100 to put into something else?

If you're looking at the Allez with the E5 Smartweld frame... then my vote goes to the Allez... it's got the same geometry as the carbon Tarmac, and the frame is the same shape tubing as well. I've had one for 2 years and it's also light weight and very agile handling.

My road bike is a Specialized Allez (not familiar with the Felt) and I love it. Stiff frame, feels stable at high speeds and agile. I don't think you would regret the purchase. As you said, the extra $$$ can go towards other tri toys.

Funny enough, I just picked up the Allez!
He said it was all stock.
But it had shimano Sora on it
- maybe stock from the shop he bought it at.
Upgraded Crank, and upgraded front brake!
Bike is in great shape and I'm looking forward to the rest of the season with it, and a couple more!

Does a degree or two difference between two frames(head and/or seat tube) really make that much of a difference when it comes to fit?

I have a Specialized Allez Elite road bike with aero bars. It has the stock seatpost. I am interested in changing the seat post to one that is more forward. What would I look for?
