If I remember correctly, seeded by sex and age. Pro men first, then pro women and then they start the age-group waves. I'm not sure what the reasoning behind the order is, but it normally doesn't follow an specific age/sex order. Its pretty random actually. The several times I have done the race, I didnt find out about my wave until I did packet pick-up the night before.

Yeah I found the link.  Pro's then it goes from oldest AG down to the youngest.  So being 30 years old I believe I am the 16-18th wave or something like that.  Thanks for the help though.  It's going to be a cold swim.  Water temp was only 56 there on the 11th I heard.

You can follow the daily water temp here:

http://www.surf-forecast.com/breaks/Racine/seatemp

it's actually up from 51 over the weekend.

I know the USAT rule is to shorten and/or cancel the swim if the temp is <= 55.

The 55 today can go either way in the next few days depending on the winds and current.

the "official" temp I heard announced was 61 or 62 at start in Racine.

I was just happy the number started with a 6 and not the 47-51 it was less than 2 weeks ago.

Water was also mirror-flat. Humidity was low.

(Except the chilly water) could not have been better conditions as a whole for race day.
