Do bigger tires make you go faster or are skinny tires the choice?

For general use, agegroupers, 23 and 25mm are the sizes used. Continental gp4000s and 4000s II are the best combo of flat resistance and speed going. If you can find pro3race or pro4race those are good as well.

23mm is probably for 80% of the wheels out there in general use.

If you have wider wheels, odds are you would know it already, then 25mm tires would be appropriate.
