Good morning BT!

Heading out to chase CC runners on the mtn bike.  I'll follow that up with a 30ish minute run and strength--my version of a taper for Saturday's race.  Have a great day!

Started coming down with a cold Sunday. Tried to power thru it Monday & Tuesday but decided to take yesterday and today off to recover. Feeling pretty good today so I may do some light strength training tonight if time permits.

Happy training to all!

Afternoon everyone!

5:15am - power spin - did an hour adaptation of a Lindsay Corbin workout - tough!

7am - 3 mile run while the kids rode their bikes along. I love doing this!

9am - no one showed up for my 45 min spin, so I did some weights instead.

Last day of summer camp and swim lessons for the kiddos today and basic running around as usual. Been a great summer - we start back in 2 weeks - yikes!
Hotter than crap here, and humid to boot! I hate it when people who live in AZ complain CONSTANTLY about the heat, so I don't. It's summer in AZ, what did you expect??? (sorry, mini rant but gets on my nerves!) Better than driving on ice and negative degree temps...IMO. I'll take the summer to get glorious weather in Fall and winter! :-)

Good day all!
Taper well Kim!

Also racing (hopefully) on Saturday. Not much today--just drove out to the event site and swam the course to confirm that 1. I can swim the distance. (A bit painful still with bruised ribs, but I can.) and 2. Decide which wetsuit to wear. (Survived it in the shorty so probably that. I just can't bring myself to contemplate putting on the full suit, swimming 1500m in it, then, worst of all, getting it off.) Lake is about 73-74 degrees, so think I'll be okay in the shortie--it was a bit colder in my March race where wetsuits weren't allowed! I swam the whole course (I think) in 25 minutes, but that doesn't sound right--started and stopped my watch a couple times when I stopped to adjust goggles, check for boats, etc. so probably closer to 30.

Good luck to those of you racing this weekend! I'm racing as well, but in an airplane. I'm co-pilot in an event flying from Michell, SD to Wausau, WI. Pretty funny because I don't know how to fly. However, my brother-in-law has been flying since he was a kid. We're flying in the plane he built over a period of about 3 years. We fly from out tomorrow (untimed) and the actual event is flying back Sunday. I'm not sure about the scoring details but based on planes design specs etc. Since I'm rather a control freak who can barely ride in a vehicle someone else is driving, this will be interesting!

I'm on the other side of the college-student desk. I'm the one with the red pen in my hand. Those of us with schedules that change from day to day actually have an advantage, I think.
