Hey all, did you see that there is a new Ironman distance race in Ontario? Just announced.

http://www.ironman.com/triathlon/news/articles/2014/07/ironman-musk...

Late August race in Ontario, sounds like perfect conditions. WTC also moved Muskoka 70.3 upto July, so the two races can be paired-up - the 70.3 as a 'training' race and the IM as the main event. I like what WTC is doing in terms of pairing-up races. It makes alot of sense from a training standpoint, and I would imagine from a risk standpoint as well. I bet that they continue to pair-up races. Princeton 70.3 and IMMD could be another set of paired-up races for 2015. Raleigh 70.3 and IM Chattanooga?

In any case, I'm taking 2015 off from a full distance IM standpoint, but might consider Muskoka in 2016. We'll see...it all depends on how IMMT goes in a few weeks.

Brian

ps. I'm sure the WTC/IM haters will come out in force and find ways to hate this announcement, but if you have that much time to hate, perhaps you should find a new hobby.

All i can say is 'ouch' - but it will be a great race - definitely not for the faint of heart, or hill climbing legs!

I am signed up for this race as well. I am doing Muskoka and Couer d'Alene next year. They will be Ironman number 4 and 5 for me.

I was hoping someone would start an official race thread.
Oh, and since Lake Tahoe was canceled this year I added it to Couer d'Alene and Muskoka. So 3 Ironmans in 3 months.

During the race there will be plenty of opportunities to exchange bottles, so I'm thinking about going with the aero bottle and Gatorade bottle and fill up as necessary. What should I do?
