Blew away the field today, but this was his race for the year so it was "expected". You can watch the race here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1im_eMTSyrM

Not much of a field when 15 get lapped out of the race.  Still, yeah, his time was fast....he's still holding form.

The field may not have been as deep as a WTS event but it had top end talent, 7 of the top 15 in the rankings were in the race. Murray never came close to challenging them today. ABrownlee then dropped JBrownlee on the run & made it look easy. It didn't work out, but I liked the Austin kid trying to hang with the B's & get on the podium. He was all in.

Kind of depressing seeing a guy walk the last 25m while high-fiving fans and flying flags around and still clocking in a 31 minute 10k.....

Just run more.....?

Meh.....the top 25 at Chicago were 1:49:XX or under on a course with over 100 90's and 180's and sweltering heat.  I'm sticking with not much of a race at the CW games....I doubt the Brownlee's had to rev the engine very high.

It's clearly the kick sets. And make darn sure they're not designed by a Frenchman.

Not quite, AB did a 28.32 10km which wouldn't qualify him for OG. 2012 qualifying time was 27.35

In an interview in the evening, AB said he was doing some training for the Commonwealth 10k, but lots of little injuries and things got in the way. So he stuck with the tri.

Great link, thanks for posting. I'm watching it now. How can I watch more of these? Meaning, would I google them, or is there a good site already set up somewhere.
Are TT bikes not allowed in these types of races? Just thought it looked a little strange that they're all on road bikes.

No aero bars that extend past the handlebars (hoods) are allowed in ITU Draft Legal events.

Here you go; ITU does fantastic coverage of their events and the price is extremely reasonable IMO:

So happy that Kirsten Sweetland was able to get the silver medal for Canada! Gutsy performance.

But too bad about Ellen Pennock's crash.

Her brother is rocking the Jr side winning nationals in Magog. He is coached by an old team mate of mine.

It was fun to watch as always.  The Jrs. have been doing it for 3 years here in anticipation of it being added to the Olympics in 2020.  It's really a cool race.

It is an awesome race to watch (and the athletes seems to enjoy it as well).

We've had relays here since 2009 (when triathlon was added to the Canada Games) as they didn't want to have just the male and female race. In 2013 we added the mixed relay which was well received and now the junior series events now have a relay so that athletes can gain experience in this format instead of just once every four years.

So when it comes to triathlon, the largest investment we make, in both terms, comes in the bike. Looking at ways to get faster, while considering a budget, is a bind for most triathletes.
