I am in training for full fitness until April 8th 2015. Just getting race fit nothing more. But I'd like to know what races I can do in the State when I feel fit enough to enter them.
I live in Cleveland but if the race in 2015 takes my fancy I would travel further. I just need to know dates and time for registration.

Any help would be great. Thank you.

I'm on the other side of the state, but I understand that both Chattanooga and Knoxville have quite a few events.

The Chattanooga Waterfront Triathlon is a fun Olympic length. I think Sports Barn has a few Sprint tris to get poeple interested in tris. There are a couple down in Dalton. And a few in Knoxville. I am not sure of dates, but know I have looked at races in the area.

The Chattanooga Triathlon Club, the Chattanooga Triathlong Club or Chattanooga Open Water Swimmers (C.O.W.S.) that may have more details on races and dates.

I just finished the NYC marathon on Sunday and I think I'm going to venture into triathlons. I am doing an Olympic distance and I want to do a 70.3 next year too. Any advice?

I just started doing tris this summer and I have two under my belt, both sprints. Is it reasonable to build up for a Oly in early ‘09, with a HIM in Oct of ‘09

Having three seasons under my belt I thought I knew what I was doing. That all changed with a few new challenges and a bunch of new friends.

Since your “A” race is your marathon, which you stated in your question, this should be your main focus. I encourage you to taper a bit for the sprint distance triathlon.

I’m a 240lb man, and I run relatively long distances. How would you recommend training for marathon and IM distances as heavy as I am?
