Subject: RE: Decisions, decisions My two cents. Buy used. I did and could not be happier! I visited several local bike shops and found that one (which btw is near a university ) had a great selection of used bikes. They took some time with me, had me ride it and I was good-to-go!
I ended up spending $600 on a used Klein. I'm guessing my bike is about 10-years-old. FYI - the lowest cost new road bike was about $700. So I spent less and got a bike that was substantially lighter than any new one in my price range. In fact I just weighed it this past weekend and at 20.4 lbs (with bag and tools ) I think I did pretty darn well!
(I did watch craigslist for awhile and was tempted but knowing next to nothing about bikes I felt better buying from a shop with helpful sales people. )
Good luck in your decision! |
