Good morning BT! How the heck are ya?!

Had a fantastic weekend including an excellent Olympic tri!  Bested my previous time at the same tri by 15 minutes! Woot!

4:15am:  Light plyos to get the heart going

4:30am:  35 min run

5:15am:  upper body strength

Training for maintenance for the next several months--nothing on the calendar for a long time and I'm perfectly happy with that!  Have a great day!

Congrats Kim!!! Awesome job on the tri! Welcome to maintenance land...it's a nice place to be - for a while :-)!

5:15am - 6 mile run with some body weight exercises after in the park where I cool down - push ups, squats, lunges, pull ups.

Then 3 mile easy bike with my kids. Fun to see the training effect working in them as well. Beginning of the summer they were complaining by the end, but now it is no big deal!

Have a great day all!

Interval run today over a 3.9km (2.4mi) route.

I was doing 1 minute hard, then 1 minute rest (making sure I noted where I finished the 1 min hard and walked back to it!).

I managed it in 12m58s (plus 1 minute rest between each hard minute, so 24m58s really).

3m18s per km (5m22s per mile) - Now I just need to be able to do that for 6.25km (the distance of my next tri) without the rest!

I went into the pool area (as this was a pool swim) and got body marked. That's when it hit me that I was there to race - this was not a clinic.

I have been able to swim 200-300 yards without stopping for the past couple of weeks, but this morning I couldn’t swim more than 50. Could not eating make a big differance?

This is not an easy task, especially for the “9-to-5er” with family. But you can do it – all without sacrificing your marriage, job or family.

Once you caught your breath, it occurred to you that finishing even a short triathlon might be harder than you thought. After a few "laps" you thought, "I can't believe I'm so out of shape."
